Trackimo

A 2015 study of GPS-tracker use, customer attitudes, and product messaging.

Trackimo project visual

Research question

The study examined why people use GPS trackers and how those uses could inform product descriptions, advertising, and distributor communication.

Methods

The research combined analysis of online reviews and forum discussions with a survey recruited through Amazon Mechanical Turk. Reviews covered Trackimo and competing devices.

Findings and limitations

The report identifies use cases and possible customer groups. Survey participants were not limited to product owners, so their preferred uses were considered separately from owners’ reported experiences.
